ANDRE OBIN is hiding in “Valencia,” but for how long? The acclaimed Boston electronic music producer today released his new music video, which finds Obin himself chased through the dark streets of Montreal and leafy wilderness of New England by secret agents, mind erasers, and a Soviet Union military tank. (Yes, the tank is legit. No, we can’t tell you where we got it).
Produced by award-winning director Theodore Cormey (Time Magazine, Best of
2011), the stark black-and-white visuals and frantic pace are a perfect complement to Obin’s pulsating, Eastern Bloc techno. “Valencia” is a relentless banger brought to new life by Cormey’s underworld vision.
“Valencia” is the third release off Boston-based Vanya Records, launched in
September by Boston Phoenix music editor and WFNX 101.7 FM radio host
Obin has just returned to the states after a string of dates in the Netherlands and Germany.
